Iuzzolino Park Backyard Club
Monday Nights | Hosted by Renew Church
Each week, Renew Church brings fun and friendship to Iuzzolino Park through a free, family-friendly Backyard Club. Kids of all ages are welcome to join in games, snacks, crafts, and story time—all centered around love, joy, and encouragement.
Warming Center
A Safe Place for the Coldest Nights
Hosted at Overflow Church
Each winter, Overflow Church opens its doors to serve our most vulnerable neighbors by providing a warm, safe place to sleep during the coldest months of the year. The Warming Center operates throughout January and February, offering overnight refuge to unhoused men and women, 18 years and older.
In 2024, we welcomed 121 individuals, offering not just shelter, but compassion, dignity, and hope. This life-saving work is only possible because of the generosity of over 100 volunteers from local churches, service agencies, and government partners—along with donors who make it possible to staff the center with trained overnight support.
We’ve also launched a team of Crisis Housing Advisors who volunteer all year to help those who are unhoused navigate next steps toward permanent housing, employment, and support services.
Make a gift to the Warming Center by selecting “Warming Center” when donating to Overflow Church.
Trunk or Treat & Easter Egg Hunts
Seasonal Celebrations with a Purpose
Overflow Church and Renew Church are proud to host two of the most anticipated neighborhood events of the year: our Trunk or Treat in the fall and Easter Egg Hunts in the spring. These family-friendly gatherings take place at Jefferson Park and Iuzzolino Park, and are designed to create safe, joyful spaces where neighbors can come together and make lasting memories.
🎃 Trunk or Treat provides a safe and festive environment where families can enjoy decorated cars, costumes, candy, and games—all in partnership with local churches across Altoona.
🐣 Easter Egg Hunts offer thousands of eggs, fun activities, and memory-making moments for children and families in the heart of our community.
These celebrations are free, family-friendly, and open to everyone. They are a joyful reflection of our commitment to loving our neighbors well in every season
